Direct Personal Response Consultation Paper

Following the release of the Second year review (the Review) of the National Redress Scheme, a Consultation Paper has been developed on Direct Personal Response (DPR).

The Consultation Paper seeks to address Recommendation 4.7 of the Review, and identifies solutions that have been informed by stakeholder feedback on the current barriers and challenges that prevent access and uptake of DPR.

Interested parties are invited to provide feedback on the DPR Consultation Paper, so that stakeholder needs are captured in the co-design of improvements to the way the National Redress Scheme supports meaningful DPR for survivors of institutional childhood sexual abuse.

While the paper identifies several solutions, stakeholders are asked to focus on the measures that will make the most difference to improving DPR uptake, to help prioritise implementation.

The consultation period will run from Tuesday, 12 October to Monday, 8 November 2021.

Feedback can be provided via the DPRInstitutions@dss.gov.au mailbox by 5.00 pm AEDST on Monday, 8 November 2021.
