The Shire of Corrigin is a WA local government authority that came into effect in 1961 when the Roads Boards became the Shire. The Shire has responsibility for the provision of providing all local government activities within the Shire, e.g. roads, waste disposal, sport and cultural facilities.

Shire Of Chittering Administration Centre

On 1 July 1961 all Roads Boards became Shires, so on 8 July 1961 all serving Roads Board members were sworn in as Shire of Chittering Councillors. On 1 July 1961 the Chittering Road Board changed to become the Shire of Chittering. New Shire Chambers were erected in Bindoon and opened by the Minister for Local Government, the Hon. L. A. Logan MLC on 17 April 1963. In c.1990 the building was extended with a new Council Chamber room and library.
